Alessandrite

Alexandrite is a rare variety of chrysoberyl, it’s iridescence, it turns red when illuminated with artificial light and green when illuminated with natural light.
One of the rarest gems in the world, it was discovered in 1833 in an emerald mine on the Ural mountains and is named after the Tsar Alexander II of Russia who received it as a gift for his sixteenth birthday.
Associated with discipline and self-control, it gives the wearer the desire to fight for excellence and self-confidence.
